Puerto Plata: Where is it? 

Puerto Plata is located on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic and there are two major airports near the city. The most popular airport for travelers looking to visit the area is Gregorio Luperon International Airport (POP) located just east of Puerto Plata City and west of Sosua. The second airport is Cibao International Airport (STI) which is about an hour south of Puerto Plata City.
